About Blue Lady Couture...
Blue Lady Couture is where you can find your perfect historically inspired or fantasy outfit, handmade in Lincolnshire, England by Joanna Read. These are not cheap, fancy dress costumes, but high quality, custom made items that can take hours of work and are made to your measurements. Blue Lady Couture offers two levels of service to suit different customer requirements.
The shop features the CLASSIC COLLECTION, a range of customisable garments and outfits for men and women which are made to order. You can choose from a broad range of colour and fabric options and will need to provide a selection of measurements.
There are occasionally ready-made items available in the shop and our specialist bespoke service is offered to clients looking for something truly unique.
Bespoke Service & Experience
Joanna Read is the owner and creator of Blue Lady Couture. Joanna graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2006 with a BA(Hons) in fashion studies where she honed her skills in pattern drafting and cutting, enabling her to bring her original fantasy designs to life and recreate historical garments based on museum originals, paintings and fashion plates.
In 2008 Joanna launched Joanna’s Bridal creating unique and alternative wedding outfits and in 2010 developed Blue Lady Couture to cater to the growing demand from clients for non-bridal, historical and fantasy outfits.
Joanna still lives in Lincolnshire, England with her husband , a naughty house bunny and garden bunnies, working from her home studio. Visits to the studio are strictly by appointment only.
